What we help with

The things that get brushed off.

Bring the symptom you have been managing quietly. Nothing here is too small, too awkward or too long-standing to be worth a consultation.

🩸

Cycles & periods

Pain, heavy bleeding, irregular or missed cycles, spotting between periods.

💊

Contraception

Oral and injectable contraception prescribed; referral for IUD or implant insertion.

🔄

PCOS

Assessment, appropriate blood tests, ultrasound referral, and long-term management.

🌡️

Menopause & perimenopause

Hot flushes, sleep, mood, HRT where clinically appropriate, bone health.

🦠

Recurring infections

Thrush, bacterial vaginosis, urinary tract infections and what to do when they keep coming back.

🔬

Cervical screening guidance

Where you sit in the screening schedule, and referral for your smear.

🤰

Fertility questions & preconception

Cycle tracking questions, preconception health, folate, and when to refer onward.

🧠

Premenstrual & mood symptoms

PMS, PMDD, postnatal mood changes and hormone-linked anxiety.

Some care has to happen in person — pelvic examinations, Pap smears, and IUD or implant insertion. Your practitioner will tell you when that is the case and refer you.

How it works

Three steps to a real consultation

01

Step 01

Tell us what’s going on

Private · Free to complete

A short online assessment covering your cycle, symptoms, medical history and current medication. Written down once, so you are not starting from scratch on the call.

02

Step 02

Choose your time and practitioner

Female practitioner on request

Pick a slot that suits you and tell us if you would prefer a female practitioner. You see the practitioner’s name and HPCSA registration before the consultation begins.

03

Step 03

Your consultation

Secure video · From R390

An HPCSA-registered practitioner works through your history with you, explains what they think is going on, and agrees a plan — tests, a prescription, or a referral where in-person care is needed.

After the consultation

What to expect

Your practitioner reviews your medical history before you speak

Discuss symptoms openly, without judgment

A diagnosis or working plan explained in plain language

Prescription sent electronically to your pharmacy

Blood tests, smears or ultrasounds arranged and reviewed with you

Follow-up care available as needed

Every stage

Care that follows you,
not just this appointment.

Who’s treating you

You know exactly who is on the other side of the screen.

Our care team is made up of HPCSA-registered Medical Doctors and Clinical Associates working under live doctor supervision (per HPCSA Notice 1390 of 2016). Where a case needs specialist input, we refer you to a registered specialist.

Where you specifically request a female practitioner, we will match you accordingly, subject to availability. You will always see who is consulting you before your call begins.

Facts you can check for yourself

We would rather cite the source than impress you with a number. Every figure below is published and attributed.

PCOS is common — and often missed

The World Health Organization estimates that polycystic ovary syndrome affects 8–13% of women of reproductive age, and that up to 70% of cases worldwide go undiagnosed.

South Africa has a screening schedule

The National Department of Health’s cervical cancer policy provides for screening from age 30, repeated every ten years in the public sector, with more frequent screening for women living with HIV. Your practitioner can tell you where you fit and arrange the smear.

Methods differ in everyday use

In the first year of use, about 7 in 100 women using the combined pill as it is commonly used will fall pregnant, compared with fewer than 1 in 100 when it is taken correctly and consistently. Implants and intrauterine devices sit under 1 in 100 either way.

An online consultation is not for emergencies

If you are pregnant or think you might be, and you have heavy bleeding, severe or one-sided abdominal pain, fainting, a high fever, severe headache with vision changes, or a sudden change in your baby’s movements — go to your nearest emergency unit or maternity unit immediately. Do not wait for an online appointment.

The same applies outside pregnancy to uncontrolled bleeding, severe pain, fainting or a high fever. Emergency services in South Africa: 10177, or 112 from a mobile phone.
